Friday, September 22nd, 1871: Pale Ales Bligh Suffers Injury
Medical officials from the Milwaukee Pale Ales reported that the club's 29-year-old right fielder, William Bligh, suffered a fractured wrist in yesterday's matchup against the Michigan Panthers while making a defensive play. Bligh is expected to miss 3-4 weeks of action.

Hitting .327 to date, Bligh has 5 home runs and 69 RBIs. He has played in 107 games.
Tuesday, September 19th, 1871: Lachowicz Keeps Hit Streak Alive
Long hitting streaks don't happen very often and when they happen it perks up everybody's interest. No one knows how long it will go -- it could end tomorrow - but baseball fans and George Lachowicz are enjoying the moment right now. The 34-year-old Pittsburgh right fielder extended his string to 20 consecutive games in Riders Ballpark today. Lachowicz got 2 hits, but the Milwaukee Pale Ales got the victory. They toppled the Vulcans 11-7.
G. Lachowicz grounded out in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, flied out in the 6th and hit an RBI double in the 8th.

Lachowicz is presently hitting at a .308 pace with no home runs and 68 RBIs. He has played in 98 games and scored 118 times.
Monday, September 18th, 1871: Pale Ales Chill Barnes's Hot Streak
The Milwaukee Pale Ales got more than a 11-9 victory over Baltimore today at Lords Ballpark. They put an end to Ross Barnes's 22-game hitting spree by holding him without a hit in 5 at-bats. But it was no big deal to the Lords second baseman.

Barnes seemed to feel more for his team than himself.

"I had some great looks at some pitches that I should have hit. I missed some that I shouldn't have swung at. All in all, I wasn't much help with the bat today."

This season Barnes has hit at a .360 clip with 79 RBIs, 1 home runs and 147 runs scored. He has played in 113 games.
