The Trojans whipped the Pikes 18-8 at Trojans Ballpark and Charlie Wroten had a big hand in the win. The Trojans right fielder came to the plate 6 times and collected 5 hits. It was a good day for Wroten and a tough day for Denver.
"I just go up there and whale away and hope it hits the barrel of the bat," he said. "There really isn't any plan."
Plan or not, Wroten delivered today -- 5-6 is outstanding in any league.
C. Wroten singled in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off D. Wishart in the 9th.
Batting .310 to date, Wroten has 1 home run and 38 RBIs.

 | Monday, June 17th, 1872: Todd out of Lineup 2 Weeks
"It was kinda freaky. Hopefully, I'll be back in the lineup soon," said a dejected John Todd after injuring himself in a game against Saint Louis. The Cincinnati manager told reporters, "He will miss up to 2 weeks with a finger blister." The Trojans are expected to announce a roster move in the next day or two.
In 1872 Todd has totaled 27 relief appearances, worked 56 innings, struck out 8 and issued 5 walks. He has 1 save and fashioned a 2.09 ERA and a 5-2 won-lost mark.

Chalk up another one for San Francisco second baseman Bill Pyne. He now has hit in 20 straight games. Pyne went 3-for-5 today's game at 49ers Ballpark. However, his club was defeated 9-7 by Cincinnati.
B. Pyne grounded out in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
For 1872 Pyne is batting .351 with 1 home run, 38 RBIs and 64 runs scored.
