The 24-year-old second baseman put up a .351 average and a .379 on-base percentage, piling up 161 hits, 25 doubles, 18 triples, 1 home run, 67 RBIs and 106 runs scored. |  | Lincoln Pitcher Racks Up Pitcher of the Year Award Wednesday, August 12th, 1885: The Pitcher of the Year Award for 1885 has been presented and the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy League winner is Billy Crosby of Lincoln.
"It's always nice to receive an award like this," said Crosby. "I just hope I can improve on my performance next year and be in the running again," the Stars star told reporters.
Crosby excelled with an impressive 25-8 record in 42 starts. In 326.1 innings he yielded 308 hits and 25 walks, while striking out 170 and compiling a fine 1.30 ERA. | | | | |
