| Breaking News |  | Harvesters Michalik Suffers Injury Wednesday, July 26th, 1882: "It was kinda freaky. Hopefully, I'll be back in the lineup soon," said a dejected Bobby Michalik after injuring himself in a game against Des Moines. The Davenport manager told reporters, "He will miss up to 12 months with a torn labrum." The Harvesters are expected to announce a roster move in the next day or two.
This year Michalik has worked 293.1 innings with 77 strikeouts en route to a 17-18 record and 2.06 ERA. |  | Renova's 20-Game Hit Streak Ends Wednesday, July 26th, 1882: Columbus left fielder Tony Renova experienced something against the Harrisburg Steelers he hadn't experienced in his last 20 games: a hitless game. The Steelers pitching corps quieted his hot bat and snapped his streak, but his teammates picked up the slack to lead the Wolves to a 8-3 victory at Steelers Ballpark.
"Hey, ain't nothin' bad about a losing a 20-game hitting streak. Now you sportswriters will have to find someone else to bother for stories," Renova kiddingly told them after the game.
