Thursday, August 17th, 1871: Selfridge's Hit Streak Over
Sacramento second baseman Mike Selfridge knew his hitting streak would end sooner or later. He just would have preferred later. Selfridge went 0-for-5 today in the Associates 11-9 victory over the Virginia City Comstock Kings, snapping his 22-game hit streak.

In his stats this season, Selfridge has posted a batting average of .304 with 146 hits in 480 at-bats, 4 home runs and 93 RBIs. He has also scored 130 runs, walked 10 times and compiled a .311 OBP.
