Thursday, July 27th, 1871: Hit Parade: Tarrance Pops 6 Hits
Tom Tarrance really did a number on the Bisons in the Chicago 22-3 victory. Not just anyone can get 6 hits in 7 at-bats. But Tom Tarrance did just that today for the Sables and gave his batting average a healthy boost and sparked his club in the win.

"I felt real good in the batter's box today. I had confidence in my swing and knew that it was there and that I could get the job done," the 30-year-old left fielder said after his record-setting performance.

T. Tarrance singled in the 1st, hit a two-run single in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, struck out in the 4th, singled in the 6th, doubled in the 8th and hit a solo-shot off T. Bluege in the 9th.

This season Tarrance has delivered 127 hits in 349 at-bats for a .364 average with 3 home runs. He is getting on base at a .413 clip and his totals also include 74 RBIs and 89 runs scored. This year Tarrance has played in 77 games.
