When the dust finally settled on the diamond, he had a 5-hit day and the Sables had a 9-7 victory.
Speaking with reporters after his standout performance, the 26-year-old right fielder said, "Get 5 hits, win a ballgame, it's nice. I could get used to this."
J. Schmitz hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 9th and hit a two-run home run off T. Tischinski in the 11th.
So far this season Schmitz is hitting .325 with 2 home runs, 52 RBIs and 79 runs scored. He has 107 hits in 329 at-bats and a .371 OBP. | |
