Tuesday, July 4th, 1871: Hot Bat Cooled, Kokos Hitless Against Sables
Lords third baseman Pete Kokos and his hot bat finally met their match today, ending his 21-game hitting string. The Sables held Kokos hitless in 4 at-bats and also whipped Baltimore 12-6 at Lords Ballpark. After his last at bat, the crowd gave him a standing ovation.

Looking at his 1871 season stats, Kokos has compiled a .308 batting average in 57 games with a .324 on-base percentage, while hitting 2 home runs and driving in 53 runs.
