Transcontinental Baseball Association News Article | | | Tuesday, June 18th, 1872: Tommy Adams Out for Season Cleveland center fielder Tommy Adams could miss the remainder of the season because of a herniated disc. He exited yesterday's Washington game after injuring himself while throwing the ball. The original diagnosis said Adams would be out 7 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer.
"He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that."
This season Adams has hit at a .349 clip with 33 RBIs, 1 home runs and 84 runs scored. | |
