Sunday, June 9th, 1872: Great Day for Tessier -- 5 Hits
It was a parade of hits for Jim Tessier of the Pittsburgh Vulcans... one right after another... a total of 5 for the day. He ravaged the Baltimore Lords for 5 hits in his 5 at-bats and propelled the Vulcans to a 16-13 victory.

"Tessier was really good and we were really bad," groaned the Lords manager. "Next time he's that hot, we'll just walk him."

J. Tessier singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, walked in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off G. Flanigan in the 8th.

Tessier is batting .298 this year with 1 home run, 34 RBIs and 63 runs scored. He has 91 hits in 305 at-bats.
