| Breaking News |  | Friday, September 15th, 2017: Havana Loses Kato, Will Miss Season
Havana starting pitcher Yoshiki Kato could miss the remainder of the season because of a torn back muscle. He exited yesterday's Seibu game after injuring himself while throwing a pitch. The original diagnosis said Kato would be out 11 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer.
"He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that."
So far this year Kato has 8 wins and 14 losses and a 4.27 ERA.

Veteran Shawn Levins had a great week at the plate for the Cubans to capture the majority of votes for Player of the Week in the Huff League.
The 33-year-old Havana third baseman built a .563 average on the strength of 9 hits in 16 at-bats, 3 home runs and 4 RBIs.
This season Levins has hit at a .279 clip with 56 RBIs, 19 home runs and 55 runs scored.

There's nothing like being in the prime of your baseball career -- and playing like it. Just ask Nelson Trejo, the Havana shortstop, who swung a sweet bat all week to not only aid his team, but also pick up the Huff League Player of the Week honors.
Trejo piled up 12 hits in 25 at-bats, 3 home runs and 7 RBIs while hitting .480.
In 2017 Trejo has produced 125 hits in 452 at-bats for a .277 average with 21 home runs and gotten on base at a .355 clip.
