Philadelphia's David Cubillo completed the season in style by winning the Jeffries League batting crown. He claimed the coveted title by hitting a solid .317 for the year. The gifted 25-year-old Spectres right fielder chalked up 205 hits during the season with 14 home runs, 100 RBIs and 113 runs scored. |
| Sunday, October 1st, 2017: Martone Gets JL Batter of the Month Trophy
When Michel Martone stepped up to the plate in September, he did it with confidence and today he was honored with the Jeffries League Batter of the Month award.
The young Philadelphia center fielder posted a .327 batting average with 5 home runs, 15 RBIs and scored 27 runs. Martone also worked pitchers for 15 walks to post a .408 on-base percentage.
So far this year Martone has 21 home runs and a .289 batting average. |

It's always a thrill for fans of the team and students of the game alike when a superstar in the making shows what he's got. Michel Martone, the Philadelphia Spectres 25-year-old center fielder, put himself in the spotlight last week making him the clear-cut choice for Jeffries League Player of the Week honors.
He ripped 14 hits in 29 at-bats, compiling a .483 average with 2 home runs and 9 RBIs.
Currently Martone has 20 home runs and a .289 batting average.
